Full Cycle Project Management
Full report here
I partnered with an educational nonprofit to perform a complete needs analysis on their after school programming needs.
Upon completing the needs analysis, it was decided that the leadership team needed more effective professional development for their teachers when it came to gym time activities.
We collaborated and designed objectives for the training. From there, we created a Message Design Plan. The plan was broken down into:
Cafeteria
Informative PowerPoint presentation to lay the foundation
Prompts with scenarios to have teachers collaborate and design their own gym game on paper
Gym
Teachers took turns executing their game and playing other players’ games. This gave them the opportunity to try out the skills they learned earlier and gave them a safe place to fail.
After trying a few different games, teacher gathered by site and reflected on the game play. They were able to strategize what this would look like at their site.
Evaluation happened with a pre and post survey for teachers. After analyzing the data, teachers felt that this professional development was more helpful than past ones. They were also able to name specific methods and skills they would use in the future. A follow-up of the leadership staff found that teachers reported feeling more confident and built stronger connections with students during gym time.
